1. Summary
Blue Collar Funded ("BCF," "we," "us") provides website design, software apps, manuals, and recurring services to contractors and trade businesses. This policy explains the personal information we handle in the course of running that business. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
2. What we collect
Information you give us directly
- Account information — name, email, password (stored hashed), phone, mailing address.
- Business profile information — when you submit a website intake or configure an app, we collect the business name, trade, license number, services offered, photos, and similar operational data.
- Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers. We do store the Stripe customer ID associated with your account so you can manage billing.
- Sales rep information (1099 contractors only) — for IRS Form W-9 compliance, we collect legal name, business name (if applicable), tax classification, address, and TIN (SSN or EIN). TINs are encrypted at rest with AES-256-CBC; only the last four digits are exposed in any display or email confirmation.
- Communications — emails you send us, support requests, contact form submissions.
Information collected automatically
- Log data — IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps. Standard web server logs.
- Session cookies — to keep you logged in across pages.
- Cart data — what's in your cart while you shop, stored in your browser session.
3. How we use it
- To deliver the products and services you've purchased.
- To process payments (via Stripe) and recognize you as a returning customer.
- To send transactional emails: order receipts, download links, password resets, build status updates, intake confirmations, W-9 acknowledgments.
- To send occasional product updates and educational content. You can unsubscribe from these at any time without affecting transactional messages.
- To pay sales reps their commissions and issue 1099 forms at year end.
- To improve the products — diagnose bugs, monitor performance, understand which features people actually use.
- To prevent fraud and abuse.
4. Who we share it with
We share personal information only with these specific service providers, and only as needed for them to do their job for us:
- Stripe — payment processing. Stripe receives your payment details directly; we receive a customer ID and order summary back.
- Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) — transactional and marketing email delivery.
- Hosting infrastructure — DigitalOcean (servers) and standard internet backbone providers required to deliver our services.
We will also disclose information when required by law (subpoena, court order, regulatory request) or to protect the rights, property, or safety of BCF, our customers, or others.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone for marketing purposes.
5. Cookies and tracking
BCF uses session cookies (PHP session, named differently for customer / sales rep / admin sessions to keep them isolated) and a remember-me cookie for sales reps who opt in. We do not currently use third-party advertising trackers, retargeting pixels, or cross-site profiling tools.
6. How we protect it
- All connections to
bluecollarfunded.comare encrypted via TLS (HTTPS). - Passwords are hashed with PHP's
password_hash()using bcrypt-class algorithms; we cannot read your password. - Sales rep TINs are encrypted at rest with AES-256-CBC; the encryption key lives in PHP-FPM environment variables, not in source code.
- Database credentials, API keys, and webhook secrets all live in the server environment, not in the codebase.
- No system is perfectly secure. If we ever discover a breach affecting your information, we will notify affected customers as soon as reasonably possible and as required by applicable law.
7. How long we keep it
- Active accounts — for as long as your account is open.
- Order history — kept indefinitely for tax and accounting purposes.
- W-9 records — kept for at least 4 years after the last payment to a sales rep, per IRS retention requirements.
- Email logs — retained by Brevo per their standard retention.
- Server access logs — typically rotated within 90 days.
8. Your rights
You can exercise these rights by emailing admin@bluecollarfunded.com from the address on your account, or by replying to any email we've sent you:
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction — ask us to fix anything that's wrong.
- Deletion — ask us to delete your account and personal information. We may need to retain some records (e.g., paid invoices, W-9s) to comply with law.
- Opt out of marketing email — every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. Transactional emails (receipts, password resets) you'll continue to receive while your account is active.
- Update billing details — your Stripe Customer Portal (linked from /account/billing) lets you manage payment methods, billing addresses, and invoices.
9. Children
BCF's products and services are intended for adults running businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has submitted personal information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated to active customers by email. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
